Oforikrom MCE Leads Efforts to Clear Apiadu Dumping Site, Urges Residents to Use Designated Waste Containers

Mr. Anwel Sadat Ahmed, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Oforikrom Municipal Assembly, has spearheaded the clearance of a dumping site at Apiadu using a deployed backhoe, restoring the area to a clean state.

Addressing residents, he emphasized the importance of utilizing provided waste containers and collective action for community health.

Mr. Sadat Ahmed use the opportunity to make a passionate appeal to the residents to use Designated Containers,  Urged them to dispose of refuse only in designated containers.

He encouraged avoidance of open dumping and burning of waste, and  Suggested separation of plastics and bottles for recycling where possible.

He  emphasized regular sweeping of homes/surroundings and teaching children proper waste disposal values.

The MCE called for residents’ participation in keeping Apiadu clean, safe, and healthy, and reiterated the importance of collective efforts for a healthier environment for all.

He disclosed that the initiative reflects Oforikrom Municipal Assembly’s commitment to improving sanitation and environmental health in Municipality and beyond.
