Ashanti Regional Minister Reaffirms Government’s Commitment to Completing Stalled Projects

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to completing stalled developmental projects in the Ahafo Ano South West and East Districts. During a visit to various project sites on Monday, August 4, 2025, Dr. Amoakohene assured residents that the government is dedicated to improving the socioeconomic development of the people.
The Regional Minister, accompanied by the District Chief Executives (DCEs), visited several project sites, including the construction of the Mankranso Community Park, the Agenda 111 District Hospital, and a 6-unit classroom block at Oyinanufo. At the Agenda 111 site, the lead contractor, Nickseth Construction Company Ltd, disclosed that the project is 73.4% complete.
Dr. Amoakohene highlighted the government’s developmental agenda, which focuses on transforming the socioeconomic status of every district through allocations from the District Assemblies Common Fund.
He emphasized that President John Dramani Mahama is committed to responsible mining and will launch the Cooperative Mining initiative at Obuasi on August 6, 2025.
The Regional Minister charged the media to report accurately on the current state of the projects, ensuring that the public is informed about the progress and challenges. He also assured that he would brief the Health Minister on the current status of the Agenda 111 District Hospital project, ensuring that the necessary processes and actions are taken.
The District Chief Executive of Ahafo Ano South West District Assembly, Abubakar Sedik, expressed his commitment to working with the Regional Minister to complete the Agenda 111 District Hospital project. He emphasized the importance of completing the project to augment the existing healthcare facilities in the district [1].
