Prudential Bank Partners with Hospitals for Free Breast Cancer Screening

The Prudential Bank, in collaboration with Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and Manhyia Hospital, has embarked on a free breast cancer screening exercise for over 500 women in Aboabo, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region. The exercise also includes blood pressure and blood sugar checks.
Mr. Bennet Frimpong, Head of Public Relations at the Bank, explained that the exercise is part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility to give back to the community.
According to him, Early detection saves lives, and they at the Bank want to provide women with the opportunity to check their health status.
He explained that the bank aims to reach over 500 people, exceeding the 300 screened last year.
Mr Frimpong reiterated that the screening exercise features a “three-in-one” approach, providing breast cancer screening, blood pressure checks, and blood sugar tests.
He disclosed that Doctors are on hand to provide direct consultation and advice to participants.
He noted that the bank plans to continue the initiative, providing the community with access to essential health services.
Madam Kate Opoku, Superintendent of Healthcare Assistant at KATH, emphasized the importance of early detection and urged women to seek timely screening, because Early detection saves life, and it’s essential for women to prioritize their health.
She also cautioned women against using family planning methods without consulting a doctor and highlighted the risks of late pregnancy or delayed childbirth.
