NDC Chairman Rewards Pupil’s Poetry Citation with Scholarship

Neriah Obeng Gyawu Afriyie, a Basic 5 pupil at Forces Basic School, Kumasi, has received a scholarship and an undisclosed amount of money from Mr. Andrews Augustus Nana Kwasi, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). The award recognizes her eloquent poetry citation at the 69th Independence Day celebration organized by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly.
Mr. Kwasi announced that he will cover Afriyie’s educational expenses until she completes Junior High School (JHS), citing it as a motivation for her to excel academically. He hopes the gesture will encourage other children to explore their talents and strive for excellence.
