Nana Adu-Gyamfi Kumanin Barima I Empowers 80 Youth in Afigya Kwabre South
Kumasi, Ghana – Nana Adu-Gyamfi Kumanin Barima I, Chief Executive Director of Shamor Herbal Centre and Nkosuohene for Nyakyereniease, has empowered 80 youth in Afigya Kwabre South with tricycles to provide them with livelihood opportunities. The initiative aims to steer the youth away from drug abuse and social vices that could jeopardize their future.
During the handing over ceremony at Akrofroum, Nana Adu-Gyamfi Kumanin Barimah I emphasized the importance of empowering the youth to make positive contributions to society. The occasion was attended by MTTD commanders from Mampongteng, Manhyia, and Old Tafo divisions, who educated the beneficiaries on road safety regulations.
Supt. Mary Affanyi, Manhyia Divisional MTTD Commander, cautioned the riders to adhere to road safety regulations to avoid accidents and police arrest, enabling them to achieve their dreams. This initiative is part of a broader effort to promote responsible youth development in the region.
Nana Yaw, one of the beneficiaries, speaking on behalf of his colleagues, expressed gratitude for the opportunity and pledged to make meaningful impacts in their community. This empowerment program is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of the beneficiaries and their community.
In a similar vein, other chiefs in Ghana have also launched initiatives to empower youth. For instance, Osabarima Ansah Sasraku II, Mamfehene, has established a TVET center to offer training in ICT and dressmaking skills to the youth. These initiatives demonstrate the commitment of traditional leaders to promoting youth development and addressing social challenges in their communities.
