Farmers Lauded as Nation Builders at 41st Farmers Day Celebration

Mr. Caesar Ofosu Acheampong,The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Offinso North, has praised farmers as the true architects of the nation at the 41st Farmers Day Celebration.
According to him, the theme “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future” underscores the critical role farmers play in ensuring food security.
He commended farmers for their toil and resilience, stating that their hard work secures the nation’s future.
Nana Dwamena Akenten II, Omanhene of Offinso, cautioned farmers against allowing illegal mining to destroy farmlands, emphasizing the importance of agriculture in securing the future.
He said the celebration recognized the contributions of farmers, including Abraham Dankwah, the disabled best farmer, who was commended for his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to farming.
The District Director of Agriculture, Prosper Adelwini, revealed the ministry’s efforts to sensitize farmers on innovative and new technological ways of farming to enhance yields and produce.
Mr Akwasi Addai a 55 years old man from Tano Kwayiemu adjudged the district overall best farmer, with 4 acres of Cashew , 4: actres of Cassava, 10 actres of Cocoa farm, 15 actres of pepper, 18 actres of maize 12 actres of Tomatoes, 6 actres of Palm nut 5 actres of Plantain 15 Cattle, 18 pigs, 70 Sheeps, and 110 Local birds, Osei Kofi Ignatius, 37 yeats as most promising farmer while Mr Abraham Dankwah adjudged as the best disabled Farmer in the district.
