MTN Ghana Commended for Significant Contributions to Education with Bright Scholarship Awards

MTN Ghana has been commended for its significant contribution to education through the “Bright Scholarship Awards”, recognizing academic excellence among brilliant but needy students.

Dr frank Amoakohene, The Ashanti Regional Minister,  lauded MTN Ghana’s efforts at the northern sector awards ceremony held at KNUST’s Law Faculty in Kumasi.

In the northern sector, 250 tertiary students received scholarships, following a similar event in Accra. The  Awardees rose from 200 last year to 300 students; 200 STEM teachers also received awards for the first time.
Scholarships cover tuition, accommodation, stipends, and laptops to ease financial burdens.

Stephen Blewett, MTN Ghana CEO emphasized investing in dreams and securing Ghana’s future through education.
According to him, MTN Ghana Target to award 1,500 more students and 600 STEM teachers in the next three years.
He disclosed that Ten beneficiaries graduated as valedictorians, 20 with first-class honors, and 94 with second-class upper division.

Some of the Recipients like Seth Sackey (University of Winneba) and Linda Asekiya (C.K. Tedam University) expressed excitement and promised to work hard to justify the investment. MTN Ghana urged beneficiaries to take studies seriously.
