Kumasi Mayor and Bawa Rock Settled Gh¢200,000.00 Debt for Indigent Patients

 Kumasi Mayor, Mr. Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, popularly known as “King Zuba, in partnership with Bawa Rock Limited to donate Gh₵200,000 to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) to help patients struggling with medical bills.
The Mayor, who frequently visits hospitals, convinced Bawa Rock Ltd, a mining company, to support efforts to reduce the financial burden on KATH patients.
He noted that unpaid patient bills have persisted for decades, becoming unbearable by December 2024.
Eric Addai Boateng, Sustainability Officer for Bawa Rock Limited, represented the company.
Dr. Paa Kwesi Baidoo, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) expressed gratitude and made a passionate appealed to other individuals, philanthropists and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to emulate the example of the Mayor and Bawa Rock Ltd kind gesture to support the less privilege in the society especially those who can not foot their hospital bills.
