KMA Reiterates Demolition Notice for Unauthorised Structures Around Baba Yara Sports Stadium

Kumasi, Ghana – The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has reminded owners of unauthorised structures around the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to remove them voluntarily before Monday, 6th April 2026. The KMA had previously extended the demolition date and is now reiterating its commitment to sanitizing the area.

The decision follows a meeting of the Ashanti Regional Security Council (REGSEC) where traditional leaders pleaded for an extension. The KMA warns against attempts to bribe officials, stating that no money has been received and such actions will not be tolerated.

The public is advised to cooperate to ensure a peaceful demolition exercise.
