KMA Leads Clean-Up Exercise in Preparation for Asantehemaa’s Funeral

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), led by Mayor Mr. Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi aka King Zubah, has embarked on a clean-up exercise in the Central Business District (CBD) of Kumasi and Manhyia, as part of preparations for the funeral of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, scheduled for Monday, September 15, 2025
The Mayor emphasized that the exercise aims to ensure Kumasi is spotless to honor the late Queenmother and presentable for visitors attending the funeral. Mr. King Zubah was seen physically desilting clogged gutters, demonstrating his commitment to the initiative. Various groups participated in the clean-up, including the Ashanti Youth Association, Kumasi Youth Association, Kejetia Petty Traders Association, and several schools such as KASS, Asanteman SHS, Bantama SDA SHS, and Islamic Senior High School.
The clean-up exercise covered several areas, including Ash-Town, Dichemso, Amakom, Asafo, Adum, Nhyiaeso, Dr. Mensah, Mmrom, K.O Odumasi, Alabar, Manhyia Extension, Bantama, Cultural Centre, and Waec Drain (Akwatia Line). Assembly Members also ensured their electoral areas participated in the exercise
The clean-up is expected to contribute to maintaining the dignity and cleanliness of Kumasi during the funeral proceedings of the late Asantehemaa, reflecting the city’s respect for the deceased and its traditions
