The Presidential Initiatives in Agriculture and Agribusiness (PIAA) has officially launched the Dobidi Agro Input Credit and Farmer Financing Platform (DACFIP), a groundbreaking initiative designed to bridge the financing gap for farmers across Ghana. Developed in collaboration with FAUREE Link Limited, the platform leverages digital innovation to deliver efficient, transparent, and inclusive access to affordable financing directly at the farmgate level.

The platform aims to support smallholder farmers through a well-coordinated system that includes input supply, extension and technical services, market linkages, and post-harvest management. Dr. Peter Boamah Otokunor, Director of the PIAA, emphasized the transformative potential of the platform, stating that it will empower smallholder farmers with the tools, resources, and financing they need to thrive and strengthen the agricultural value chain nationwide.

Digital Access to Affordable Credit,  Farmers can access seeds, fertilizers, and tools on credit, streamlining payments and integrating them into formal banking systems.
The platform offers real-time input credit and automated payments upon delivery, ensuring transparency and eliminating long payment delays.
Farmers are digitally profiled, KYC-compliant, and ready for formal banking and credit scoring through integration with licensed financial institutions.

The platform aligns with the government’s 24-hour economy strategy and targets key sectors, including:
– *Rice and Maize Production*
– *Poultry and Livestock Value Chains*
– *Coconut and Horticulture Development*
– *High-Value Crop Production
– *Youth Employment and Agro-Enterprise Incubation.

By providing smallholder farmers with access to affordable financing and input support, the Dobidi platform is expected to enhance productivity nationwide. The initiative is designed to restore dignity and give farmers a central voice in Ghana’s economic story, rather than just a seasonal role at the margins ¹.
