Political Analyst Praises President Mahama’s Efforts to Empower Police in Fight Against Crime

Mr. Agbenya Precious, a Political analyst and National Communication Team member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), has commended President John Dramani Mahama’s administration for strengthening the Ghana Police Service in its crackdown on criminal activities, particularly armed robbery.

Mr. Precious highlighted a recent incident in which a jewellery shop in Adabraka was robbed on 2 November 2024, with thieves escaping with more than GH₵7.5 million. He noted that the swift arrest of one of the suspects in Ashaiman this week demonstrates the effectiveness of the security agencies’ efforts. “The Resetting agenda is indeed working and yielding results in the fight against crime and insecurity,” he said.

The analyst extended his appreciation to the Police Service for their dedication and professionalism. IGP Tetteh Yohuno and his team for the great work in keeping Ghana safe.

Mr. Precious, speaking as a proud member of the NDC, affirmed that President Mahama’s empowerment of the police is a key component of the government’s broader strategy to enhance security and protect citizens’ livelihoods. He expressed confidence that continued support for law‑enforcement agencies will further reduce criminal activity across the country.
