CSIR Explores Collaboration with Sekyere Kumawu District Assembly for Development

The Sekyere Kumawu District Assembly hosted a delegation from the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to discuss potential partnership opportunities aimed at driving local development through science and technology.
The meeting underscored the Assembly’s vision to harness innovation for addressing pressing district challenges.
Focus Areas for Collaboration includes Agricultural Improvement, Building on initiatives like the Feed Ghana Programme, focusing on sustainable practices and resource access enhancement, Exploring opportunities with key crops like cashew and rice, significant to the district’s economy.
Economic and Livelihood Impact, Aiming to create jobs, stimulate local growth and improve community livelihoods.
Mr Kwasi Amankwah DCE for the district disclosed that the collaboration is geared towards Addressing Water Accessibility, Tackling challenges related to water sustainability in the district.
Research and Innovation, Leveraging CSIR’s expertise for local problem-solving and development.
He said Community Benefits would Harnessing collaboration for positive change and a brighter future for Sekyere Kumawu’s residents.
The Sekyere Kumawu District is eager to leverage this partnership to foster development, with existing programmes like Feed Ghana already showing promising results in empowering local farmers.
