Concerned Youth of Asante Condemns Planned Anti-Igbo Demonstration

The Concerned Youth of Asante has strongly condemned the planned anti-Igbo demonstration in Ghana, citing the country’s tradition of hospitality and welcoming nature towards foreigners. Speaking at a press conference held at Noks Hotel in Kumasi, the group’s president, Nana Agyenim Boateng, popularly known as Gyataba, expressed their opposition to the planned demonstration.

Nana Agyenim Boateng emphasized that the presence of Igbo individuals in Ghana is not an issue and that they respect their roles in the communities. He highlighted Asanteman’s history of welcoming foreigners and treating them with kindness, stating that the proposed demonstration is unnecessary and unwelcome.

Instead of targeting the Igbo community, Nana Agyenim Boateng urged the government to focus on strengthening the country’s borders to prevent malicious individuals from entering Ghana.

He emphasized that Ghanaians are known for their hospitable nature and are always ready to welcome foreigners with open hearts, but also advised foreigners to abide by Ghanaian laws and contribute positively to society.

The Concerned Youth of Asante stands firm in promoting unity and peaceful coexistence among all residents in Ghana. The group rejects hatred and division and instead embraces shared humanity. They believe that Ghana’s diversity is a strength and that all residents should work together to build a harmonious society.
