Cocoa Farmers Urge Govt to Send 70% Adjustment Bill to Parliament. Wants Politicization of Cocoa Price to Stop

The Ahafo Ano South West District Cocoa Farmers have expressed concern about the politicking surrounding cocoa prices, urging the government to urgently send the 70% automated adjustment bill to parliament for passage.
Mr. Edward Kwame Yeboah, National Best Cocoa Farmer 2025, cautioned farmers against politicizing cocoa prices, stating that it could endanger the sector, and entreated stakeholders in the industry to stop the politicization oc Cocoa Price.
According him, The cocoa industry is the backbone of the economy, and if it’s negatively affected by political expediency, it will have an adverse effect on the economy.
Mr Yeboah expressed concern that the reduction in cocoa prices was not intentional, but rather a result of overdue politicking. He urged stakeholders to desist from engaging in politics that could destroy the cocoa sector.
The farmers are calling for the 70% automatic adjustment to be restored, citing that the cedi is now strong against the dollar. They also want the government to ensure the bill is passed in parliament and to subsidize prices of fertilizers and chemicals for farmers.
