Nana Kwasi Ato Ware II, Chief of Sefwi Basengele in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality, has called on Pastor Koomson of Truth Faith Church to retract and apologise for comments against Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, President of the National House of Chiefs.
The pastor, in a viral TikTok video, alleged that Ogyeahoho Gyebi had failed to deliver development projects in his area. Nana Ato Ware II described the remarks as “distasteful, offensive and unethical,” warning that such attacks undermine the dignity of chieftaincy and threaten national unity.
He said Ogyeahoho’s re-election as President of the National House of Chiefs reflected his achievements, including establishing Queens Girls Senior High School, building dormitories and laboratories, providing sanitary facilities through the GNPC Foundation, and supporting scholarships and apprentice programmes.
The chief urged Truth Faith Church to discipline the pastor and called for a cordial relationship between church and traditional authorities, stressing that Ghana’s governance thrives on cooperation between modern and traditional institutions.
