Atwima Nwabiagya North Education Directorate Addresses Teacher Shortage Concerns

By Nana Kwasi Kyere, Barekese

The Atwima Nwabiagya North District Education Directorate has addressed concerns over a teacher shortage in the Wurapong Circuit, stating that efforts are being made to address the issue.

According to Mr. Frank Duah Boateng, Director of Education, the circuit needs 40 teachers and currently has 12. He expressed optimism that the Ghana Education Service Headquarters will soon fill the vacancies.

Mr. Boateng expressed disappointment that the issue was escalated by Hon. Bright Osei, Assembly Member for Wurapong Electoral Area, despite efforts being made to resolve it. Hon. Osei has appealed to the government and stakeholders to support the area, as the BECE 2026 exams are approaching in less than 4 months
