The Asante Concerned Youth has declared its support for two Ashanti natives vying for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential ticket in the January 31, 2026 primaries.
Nyamekye Ebenezer, President of the group, emphasized the importance of backing their own candidates to lead the opposition NPP into the 2028 general elections.
Mr. Nyamekye, urged delegates to vote for the Ashanti aspirants, citing the need to build on former President John Agyekum Kuffour’s developmental efforts in the region.
He stressed that a development-oriented candidate from Ashanti would enhance the region’s growth and improve the lives of its people. A native Ashanti leading the NPP would motivate voters to turn out in force, increasing the party’s chances of winning the ultimate.
The group’s support comes as the NPP prepares for a keenly contested flagbearer election. With the primaries just days away, the Asante Concerned Youth’s endorsement could sway undecided delegates.
