The MTN Ghana Foundation Embark on youth empowerment and digital transformation at the grand finale of the National Youth Mentorship Summit 2025 held at the University of Ghana, Legon, Business School
The summit brought together about 800 students and young professionals from across the country for a transformative experience focused on mentorship, digital readiness and leadership development.
Georgina Fiagbenu, Senior Manager, Corporate Communications at the event explained that MTN Ghana, emphasized the companys passion for equipping Africas youth with the skills required to thrive in a digital future.
She said, “MTN is proud to support this national mentorship programme focused on young people in tertiary institutions. As a brand committed to driving Africas progress, we recognise that youth development and entrepreneurship are essential for sustainable economic empowerment.
The youth are not just the future they are the now. It is our responsibility to equip them with the digital tools, entrepreneurial mindset, and soft skills they need to thrive in a connected world.”
In her presentation themed STRETCH, she urged participants to go beyond their comfort zones to achieve excellence in their academic and professional journeys. She emphasized that growth comes from stretching oneself and embracing challenges.
The motivation behind MTNs engagement at the summit was the presentation on the MTN Skills Academy, a flagship initiative under the MTN Ghana Foundation. The Skills Academy, provides free access to world-class digital skills training, including courses in data analytics, cybersecurity and career development tools.
Ebenezer Terkpeh, Education Portfolio Advisor at the MTN Ghana Foundation, elaborated on the academys goal of reaching over 10,000 young people in Ghana. We have transitioned from a telecoms company to a technology company. To meet our future workforce needs, we must invest in equipping local talent with the right skills. The MTN Skills Academy does just that, offering both basic and advanced programs with certifications from top global universities.
Albert Prempeh Kusi, founder of the LEC Group and convener of the National Mentorship summit, praised MTN Ghana for being a consistent and impactful partner in youth development. Through initiatives like the MTN Skills Academy and their continued support of national mentorship programs, MTN is truly investing in the future of Ghana and Africa, he noted.
The 2025 edition of the National Youth Mentorship Summit, which began on June 21, has been marked by weeks of impactful sessions, interactive workshops, and empowering conversations in four public universities.
