Ejisu MCE Distributes Christmas Food Packages to All 28 Wards

Deaconess Jerryne Asante, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ejisu, spent Christmas Day travelling across the municipality to deliver festive food parcels to residents in all 28 wards.

The parcels, which contained rice, cooking oil, mackerel and tomatoes, were handed out to Assembly members, government appointees, constituency executives, Municipal Assembly staff, NDC party members and members of the public. According to Deaconess Asante, the initiative – the first of its kind in Ejisu – was intended to spread Christmas cheer and reinforce community bonds during the holiday season.

“We all enjoy this Christmas together and may the festive spirit bring us all closer,” she said after the final distribution. “Obiaa bedidi.”

The event also featured remarks from former President John Dramani Mahama, who sent a message of goodwill. “Christmas is the best,” the head of state was quoted as saying. “NDC party papapaa.”

Residents who received the gifts expressed gratitude, noting that the gesture had brightened their holiday. “We are truly happy that this is happening in our municipality for the first time,” said one beneficiary.

Deaconess Asante thanked the Assembly, party officials and all citizens for their support, urging everyone to celebrate the yuletide modestly and safely. She concluded her tour by wishing Ejisu a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
