Dr. Caesar Urges Lifestyle Changes to Curb Alarming Death Rates from Kidney Disease in Ghana
Dr. Caesar, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of M.Y Caesar Company Limited, has called on Ghanaians to adopt a healthier lifestyle to curb the alarming death rates from kidney disease in the country. According to him, Ghana records a sharp rise in kidney-related deaths, with 4,161 people dying from the disease in 2020, accounting for 2.38% of total deaths.
He stated that statistics shows that Ghana ranks 56th globally in kidney disease mortality, a position that health experts find deeply troubling.
 Dr. Caesar emphasized the importance of prevention, stating that many of these deaths could have been prevented through early diagnosis and lifestyle changes.
Dr. Caesar stressed that the health professionals cannot sit back and allow this to continue. Says Prevention must be the first line of defense.
He also expressed the need for Regular health screening which he said is not a luxury buy a necessity. While early detection can mean the difference between life and death.
Dr. Caesar urged Ghanaians to take proactive steps to safeguard their kidney health, including Reducing salt and fat intake, Managing sugar and high blood pressure levels, Exercising regularly,
Staying hydrated and Avoiding the misuse of over-the-counter painkillers.
