545 New Police Recruits Pass Out, Tasked to Exhibit High Level of Competence

A total of 545 newly recruited police officers, including 298 females and 247 males, have passed out at the Police Training School at Patase and been inducted into the Ghana Police Service. COP Dr. Ernest Kwabena Owusu, Director General in charge of Services, tasked the recruits to exhibit a high level of competence and uphold the public’s trust in the service.
The Director General emphasized the importance of enforcing the law fairly, with utmost respect for citizens’ human rights. He also highlighted the Ghana Police Service’s cardinal role in providing security to ensure the protection of citizens and everyone at all times.
He disclosed that 24-Hour Economy Security Secretariat as a special security unit has been established at the Police Headquarters to support the government’s flagship policy, the 24-hour economy.
He indicated that the unit aims to provide adequate security to facilitate the policy’s successful implementation.
COP Dr. Owusu urged the recruits to serve with humility, integrity, and diligence, cautioning them against intimidating the public. He reminded them of their responsibility to uphold peace and ensure public trust in the service. The recruits are expected to make a positive impact in their communities and contribute to maintaining law and order in the country.
