Madam Emilia Arthur, the Member of Parliament for Shama Constituency, has demonstrated her commitment to youth empowerment and skills development by donating essential equipment to the Dressmakers, Hairdressers, and Garment Associations within the constituency.
At a well-attended ceremony held in the Aboadze community, Hon. Emelia Arthur presented 120 hair dryers, 120 dressmaking machines, and 8 industrial sewing machines to the leadership of the various associations. The items are intended to support underprivileged individuals who are eager to learn trades but have been hindered by a lack of tools and equipment.
According to the MP, the entire donation was personally funded through her own resources, with the machines acquired from MASLOC. She assured the beneficiaries that more support is on the way and encouraged those currently waiting to remain hopeful, as their turn will soon come.
The program was graced by several dignitaries including Shama NDC Constituency Executives, the Municipal Chief Executive, the Presiding Member of the Shama Municipal Assembly, queen mothers, technocrats, and a cross-section of the Aboadze community.
Nana Kobaabo, the Queen Mother of Aboadze, who chaired the occasion, expressed her heartfelt appreciation and shared in the joy of the beneficiaries. She praised Hon. Emelia Arthur for her continued dedication to the development of the constituency.
Leaders of the Garment, Dressmakers, and Hairdressers Associations also expressed their deep gratitude for the generous gesture, describing it as a life-changing support that will enhance their training capacity and livelihood opportunities for many in the area.
